It’s official—2025 is more than halfway over. Whether you’ve stayed on track with your goals or lost sight of them altogether, one thing is clear: it’s been a big year so far at Treetown Tech.
A Culture That Builds Together
Before diving into what’s next, we’re taking a moment to look back at what’s shaped our year. At the top of the list? Teamwork, and, unexpectedly, jerky. When we asked founders Nate Ernst and Casey Alford what stood out most in 2025, they didn’t hesitate to point to the camaraderie and humor that keep our team grounded and productive. Building a culture where people enjoy working together isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s key to how we get things done.
Growing the Team, Expanding the Mission
This year, our team has grown meaningfully. We’ve brought in operations and project management support, added more engineering power, welcomed a new IT director, and expanded our intern program. These additions aren’t just about headcount; they reflect our continued focus on building interdisciplinary teams that collaborate well and deliver reliably.
Production, Leveled Up
We’ve also made significant investments in our in-house production capabilities. Two new CNC machines—affectionately named Bert and Ernie—have helped us move beyond prototyping into continuous production. With this shift, we’re now taking projects from concept to completion more efficiently than ever.
Batteries Included
That capability leap has come in handy. Earlier this year, we delivered our first production battery packs. These aren’t off-the-shelf systems; they’re high-performance builds, custom-engineered to meet tight specs, safety standards, and packaging requirements. From thermal management to BMS integration, getting to this point took serious technical work and close collaboration across our team.
Smart Design Through Simulation
On the digital side, our simulation efforts have grown alongside our hardware. With new tools, improved computing power, and deeper experience, our team has been tackling more complex analyses—from thermal modeling to structural optimization. Simulation now plays a bigger role earlier in the design cycle, helping us reduce iterations, increase precision, and take on tougher challenges with confidence.
The Common Thread: Teamwork
Across all of this progress, the constant has been our team. The real story of the first half of 2025 isn’t just about new machines, product launches, or process upgrades; it’s about the people behind them. Their ability to adapt, collaborate, and build creatively is what’s pushing us forward.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we’re not slowing down. With 2026 on the horizon, we’re focused on building smarter, solving harder problems, and staying curious.
